BOMBA Summer Baseball Camps
Jun 30, 2017, 7:24 pm

BOMBA, Burlington's largest grassroots and travel baseball association, is pleased to announce its continuing partnership with Power Alley Baseball in providing Summer Baseball Camps.

The Burlington Baseball Summer Camp, entering its third year, is offering 6 weeks of high performance baseball camps to Burlington athletes starting the week of July 10th.

The Power Alley Baseball team, led by Tyler Patzalek, brings numerous years of baseball experience in both grassroots and REP player training.   Building on the positive feedback from the 2015 and 16 summer camps and 2016 and 2017 winter camps the goal is to provide a unique development environment for both House League and REP players.

Dorchester Champions!
Jun 28, 2017, 5:33 pm

This past weekend the Minor PeeWee Navy Squad played in the Dorchester Summer Slam Tourney.  It was a HOT, WET and WILD Weekend.  With a 2-1 record in round robin play, with the only loss coming to the Tier 1 Cambridge Cubs via mercy, the boys received one of two byes into the semi finals.  The Semi-final was close for the first few innings until some big two out hits rallied the Bulls for an 11-3 win and put them on into the finals, versus the same T1 Cambridge Cubs squad who had only given up 2 runs over their first four games and had walked through (“mercied”) all teams in front of them.

The Navy Bulls jumped out to an early 2 run lead in the top of the first inning, and then adding single runs in the top of the third and fourth.  Cambridge was able to start a comeback, with runs of their own in the bottom of the fourth, sixth and in the seventh inning, eventually having the tying run on second base in the bottom of the 7th with only one out.  With an opposite field hit over the third basemen’s head, it looked like the tying run would cross the plate, however, with the batter already assured of second base, the defense was able to make a good hard throw to the dish and get the second out on a bang bang play at the plate, the Bulls needed one more out, which came via a pop to SS and the Bulls celebration started.

Congrats to the entire squad – who received contributions from EVERYONE on the squad over the course of the weekend – a GREAT job and well deserved W.  NEXT TOURNEY – COOPERSTOWN!!!
