House League Baseball Registration - Terms and Conditions

 

Regular House League Registration has closed.

Divisions that have open spots will remain available for registration only until such time as the final spots are filled.

 

Registration is FULL for Junior Coach Pitch (birth year 2017)

Registration is FULL for Senior Coach Pitch (birth year 2016)

Registration is FULL for Rookie Ball (birth years 2015 and 2014)

Registration is FULL for Mosquito (birth years 2013 and 2012)

Registration is FULL for Pee Wee (birth years 2011 and 2010)

Registration is FULL for Bantam (birth years 2009 and 2008)

Registration is FULL for Midget (birth years 2007/06/05)

Registration is still OPEN for T-Ball (Birth years 2019 and 2018)

 

House League Registration will close at midnight on March 31^st, 2023 in order to give us time to put together teams and place coaches.  Only those divisions that may have a spot or spots left will remain open for registration past March 31^st.

 

NO PAY - NO PLAY

A registration is not considered final and accepted until the registration fee is paid in full. (See also NSF Cheques and Refund Requests)

 

PLAYER REQUESTS

Historically BOMBA has tried to meet the individual requests of players to be on the same team as their friends or to have a specific coach. Our registrants, or the parents of our registrants, have expressed that they place a much greater value on team / division balance and consequently BOMBA WILL NOT attempt to meet individual player requests above the entry levels (Junior T-Ball, Senior T-Ball, and Junior Coach Pitch).

Friend/Coach requests at the entry levels of Junior T-Ball, Senior T-Ball and Junior Coach Pitch are to be made by e-mail to the appropriate division convenor.  Please note that in the case of friend requests, only one friend request will be considered per player and the request must be sent by e-mail from the parents/guardians of both players, confirming that the request is mutual.

Coaches / Managers will still be assured of having their child on the team they coach/manage.

 

REFUND POLICY

If for any reason you choose to withdraw your child from registration prior to the season commencement there will be a $50 processing fee subtracted from your refund. Any refund requested after season commencement will have a $50 processing fee deducted and 50% of the registration fee will be withheld to cover the costs incurred for uniforms, equipment, diamonds, umpires etc.  Season commencement is considered to be April 1st, as team formations begin at that time. 

 

NSF CHEQUES

BOMBA will charge a $40 administration fee for NSF cheques. If a cheque is rejected at any time, the child is not considered registered until payment is received by BOMBA. 

 

NUMBER OF GAMES

Due to many factors BOMBA cannot guarantee the number of games your child will play in any season. Factors such as weather, diamond availability, number of registrants, umpire availability, holidays, or any other unforeseen issues such as power failure cutting off night lighting will all impact the number of games we can achieve.

  

GAME NIGHTS

All levels will be scheduled to play twice per week on the same nights/days weekly: 

• T-Ball (Birth years 2019 and 2018) will play Monday and Wednesday nights.
• Junior Coach Pitch (birth year 2017) will play Tuesday and Thursday nights.
• Senior Coach Pitch (birth year 2016) will play Monday and Wednesday nights and may have the occasional weekend game depending upon diamond availability.
• Rookie Ball (birth years 2015 and 2014) will play Tuesday and Thursday nights and may have the occasional weekend game depending upon diamond availability. 
• Mosquito (birth years 2013 and 2012) will play on Monday and Wednesday nights and may have the occasional weekend game depending upon diamond availability. 
• Pee Wee (birth years 2011 and 2010) will play on Tuesday and Thursday nights and may have the occasional weekend game depending upon diamond availability. 
• Bantam (birth years 2009 and 2008) will play on Monday and Wednesday nights and may have the occasional weekend game depending upon diamond availability. 
• Midget (birth years 2007/06/05) will play two games per week.  These could be scheduled any night Monday - Friday and the game nights might vary week to week as this division often includes neighbouring City/Town teams. Games are scheduled according to diamond availability.  This division may also have an occasional weekend game depending upon diamond availability.  

*BOMBA will do everything within our control to keep game nights/days consistent, however they may be subject to change on occasion based upon City diamond availability which is a factor beyond our control.

 

SEASON START AND FINISH DATES

It is BOMBA’s goal to start our summer baseball season play for the divisions of Senior Coach Pitch and older the second week of May.  The entry level divisions (Jr. & Sr. T-Ball and Junior Coach Pitch) and Challenger Baseball traditionally start playing after the Victoria Day long weekend. 

 

PARENTS / GUARDIANS RESPONSIBILITIES

Parents/Guardians are responsible to ensure that a player is in good health and has sufficient medical coverage, over and above the minimal insurance provided to the Association.

Parents/Guardians are responsible to purchase and ensure that the player wears the appropriate protective gear (i.e. jock or jill), when participating in all athletic events.

 

FOOTWEAR

At all levels of House League play athletic running shoes are acceptable. If the registrant chooses to wear baseball shoes metal cleats are not allowed until the level of Bantam.

 

BASEBALL GLOVES

Baseball gloves for all players are the responsibility of the Parent / Guardian to supply. Catcher’s Equipment will be supplied by BOMBA, one to a team.

 

BATTING HELMETS

Batting Helmets for all players are the responsibility of the Parent / Guardian to supply and are not to be shared.
